The Saï Dew adventure began when Louis Genoud, Julien Mégevand and Yannick Jacquet, schoolyard friends from Lyon, decided to move to Brussels in September 2013 with the idea of absorbing the cultural and creative wealth of this artistic hub. Their first album, Polar Exodus, was released in January 2015. After a few shows, they met their bass player, Matis Regnault, who quickly jumped on the bandwagon. Since then, Saï Dew already performed at several local venues in Belgium and in France.

Although they have embraced the electro jazz movement they are eager to step outside the conventional box often associated with the genre, As a result of their ambition and dedication, the band succeeds in captivating their listeners by establishing their own tapestry of sound through original compositions.

Their musical world takes root from a diversity of genres and artists who have inspired them. To name a few Bonobo (trip-hop), Rone/Nicolas Jaar (electronic music), E.S.T. (Nordic Jazz), or Portico Quartet (electronic jazz)…

On stage, saxophone and trumpet take charge lyrically offering soothing warm passages, which are wrapped up in the energetic groove provided by the keyboard, bass, and drum machines.

Leaving the doors of improvisation open, Saï Dew shares with each audience a unique and exclusive experience. The conversation between the four band members takes place on this “electronic nimbus” creating unpredictable rhythms and layers of colorful melodies flowing from blues to reds.

Live, the rise of the musical energy takes the audience on a personal yet festive journey.
